Children’s Behavioral Services

In-Home Behavioral Services

In-Home Behavioral Services offer valuable support to children and youth with challenging behaviors that get in the way of everyday life. Services are provided by a behavioral health professional who is skilled in understanding and treating difficult behaviors in children and youth. The provider works closely with the child and family to create a behavior support plan to improve the child’s functioning. The provider also works as a team with a behavior monitor. The monitor works with the child and family to implement the child’s behavior plan. In-Home Behavioral Services are provided in family homes, schools, childcare centers and other community settings.

Autism/Applied Behavioral Services

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. It can improve social, communication, and learning skills through positive reinforcement. The ultimate goal is to support the youth to become an active participant within his or her family, home and community.

At the Edinburg Center, Autism (ABA) Services are provided to youth under 21 years old, with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. A team consisting of a Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst / Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Behavior Technician provide services in the home or community. The team works closely with the child and any caregivers to create and implement a Treatment Plan, based on the person’s current abilities. The Treatment Plan focuses on teaching socially appropriate behavior including adaptive and communication skills to replace and reduce behaviors that interfere with everyday life. The team assures that strategies used during direct instruction for each youth, are carried over throughout the day with all care providers.
