Edinburg Spotlight on Emily Rankin
At The Edinburg Center, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on one of our most dedicated and compassionate team members, Emily Rankin. For over three years, Emily has brought empathy, energy, and excellence to everything she does, helping individuals not only meet their goals, but dream bigger than they ever thought possible.
Born in Bronxville, NY, and now residing in Ashby, MA, Emily’s journey into human services began in high school when she took a forensic psychology class that sparked a lasting passion. That early interest led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Concordia College, where she also dove into courses in counseling and domestic violence prevention. She is now setting her sights on a Master’s degree in psychology, furthering her commitment to the field she loves.
Emily’s first professional experience in human services came in 2019 at the Jewish Childcare Association, where she worked with high-risk youth. True to her hands-on, heart-first approach, she also worked part-time at a daycare and taught swimming to children, always seeking opportunities to make a difference in young lives.
Emily joined The Edinburg Center in 2021 as a Developmental Disabilities Residential (DDRES) at Jessie Road and quickly demonstrated the leadership and dedication that led to her promotion as Group Home Director at Brookfield. In 2022, her peers recognized her exceptional work and recommended her to join the Meaningful Whole Life (MWL) program.
Since joining MWL, Emily has continued to shine as a Meaningful Whole Life Champion, helping to shape meaningful experiences and individualized paths for each person served. What Emily finds most rewarding about her work is “helping residents fulfill their goals.” Her impact reaches beyond just the individuals she supports directly – her passion extends across the DDRES program, where she’s known for uplifting others and helping dreams become reality.
And when she’s not making magic happen at work, Emily is likely embracing the spooky season. A little-known fact? She loves Halloween so much that she and her husband chose to get married on October 31st!
Emily Rankin is more than just a valued team member – she’s an inspiration to her colleagues and a source of strength and encouragement to the individuals she supports. Her dedication embodies the heart of The Edinburg Center’s mission.
