The Edinburg Center is proud to shine the Employee Spotlight on Yannick Bessong, a dedicated and compassionate leader whose journey in Human Services has been shaped by purpose, empathy, and a deep commitment to supporting others.
Residing in Lowell, MA, Yannick holds a degree in liberal arts and political science. His path toward Human Services began at Work, Inc., where he worked as a Direct Care Professional. He then moved to the Price Center where he was a Group Home Manager and then to the Kennedy Donnivan Center where he was Assistant Residential Director. Through these different roles he discovered the profound fulfillment that comes from helping others. Whether offering a smile, sharing a laugh, or giving someone even 30 minutes of relief on a difficult day, those moments, he says, sparked a calling that has guided his career ever since.
When he came to The Edinburg Center four years ago, he joined the newly developed Meaningful Whole Life (MWL) program as one of its inaugural “Champions.” Yannick’s leadership, passion, and commitment quickly stood out. He was promoted to Residential Director and today serves as one of the Senior Directors of Residential and Individual Support Services.
For Yannick, the most rewarding part of his work is “being a part of the lives of some of the most vulnerable in our society, advocating for the voiceless, and supporting the people we serve to lead their best lives.”
Outside of work, Yannick enjoys cooking, going to the gym, music, karaoke, art, and kayaking. And for those who don’t already know, he has an unexpected soft spot for raccoons and Sphynx cats.
We are grateful for all Yannick brings to The Edinburg Center. His leadership, his compassion, and his enthusiasm for helping others brings so much to the organization. Yannick is someone who leads with heart, humor and unwavering dedication.
Thank you, Yannick, for your remarkable contributions and the positivity you bring every day!
