The Charles Webster Potter Place Clubhouse is inviting community members to help local students start the school year prepared and confident by participating in its School Supply Drive throughout July and August.
As part of its monthly Potter Place Gives Back community service initiative, the Clubhouse is collecting new school supplies to benefit the Waltham Partnership for Youth Welcome Center. The Welcome Center connects local students and families with valuable educational resources and support services, helping ensure every child has the tools they need to succeed in school.
Community members are encouraged to donate new school supplies, including:
- Backpacks
- Notebooks and binders
- Pens and pencils
- Crayons and colored pencils
- Erasers and pencil sharpeners
“Something as simple as a notebook or backpack can have a meaningful impact on a student’s confidence and readiness for the school year,” said Potter Place Director Patricia Vella. “We are proud to partner with the Waltham Partnership for Youth and invite our community to join us in making a difference for local families.”
Donations may be dropped off at the Charles Webster Potter Place Clubhouse, located at 15 Vernon Street in Waltham, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. throughout July and August.
The School Supply Drive reflects Potter Place’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community while fostering meaningful opportunities for Clubhouse members to engage in service and strengthen local partnerships.
The Charles Webster Potter Place Clubhouse operates under the guidance of The Edinburg Center, a Middlesex County human services agency that provides pre-vocational and social opportunities for individuals living with mental health conditions. The Edinburg Center’s mission is to provide innovative, person-centered services that foster hope, independence, and personal growth.
Community members interested in supporting the drive are encouraged to stop by during collection hours and help local students begin the new school year with the supplies they need to succeed.
