Family Support and Advocacy
The goal of The Edinburg Center Family Advocacy and Support program is to provide a wide array of support and advocacy options for families of individuals with mental illness. The Director provides ongoing consultation to agency programs regarding how to listen to, support, and encourage the active involvement of families. The Director also runs monthly family support and advocacy meetings that serve to educate families about mental illnesses, service systems, treatment modalities, and benefits and resources. Close collaboration with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) provides additional opportunities to engage families in support and advocacy initiatives.
